Argolla is a chair combining an oxidized tubular steel frame with solid copper hoops and a cognac faux leather seat. Freely moving along the frame, the copper hoops generate subtle sound and vibration through contact, becoming an integral part of the piece.

The copper hoops act as an active material intervention. Each hoop is individually finished through polishing, oxidation, or heat treatment, creating a layered composition of evolving surfaces.
The tubular steel frame is individually oxidized by hand, giving each piece a unique surface character. As the hoops slide, collide, and settle along the oxidized steel frame, they generate subtle sounds and vibrations while gradually leaving traces on both copper and steel. Their continuous interaction allows the surfaces to record contact and time, reinforcing the collection’s exploration of material memory.
The cognac upholstery introduces a warm material contrast, balancing the industrial character of steel and copper within a restrained composition.
